Welcome to The Author Stage. These Terms and Conditions, also referred to as the “Terms,” govern your access to and use of The Author Stage website, platform, author pages, account tools, free trials, subscriptions, and related services.
The Author Stage is owned and operated by Snow Tree Media LLC.
By creating an account, starting a free trial, subscribing to our service, accessing your author page, or using The Author Stage in any way, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use The Author Stage.
1. Overview of The Author Stage
The Author Stage provides authors with an online platform to create, manage, and display author pages, book information, images, reviews, contact forms, and other content related to their books and author brand.
Users may log in to their account to manage their author page, update content, add or edit book information, upload images, and make changes to the information displayed on their page.
2. Eligibility
The Author Stage is intended for users located in the United States. By using our service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old or that you have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use the service.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account, starting a trial, subscribing, or using our services.
3. Account Registration and Security
To use certain features of The Author Stage, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree not to share your account login information with unauthorized users or allow others to access your account without permission.

4. Free Trial
The Author Stage may offer a 7-day free trial to new users. During the trial period, users may access the service before being charged.
Unless you cancel before the end of your 7-day free trial, your payment method will automatically be charged for a one-year subscription at the end of the trial period.
It is your responsibility to cancel during the free trial period if you do not wish to be charged.
5. Subscription and Billing
The Author Stage is billed as an annual subscription. By subscribing, you authorize our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your payment method for the subscription amount at the end of the free trial and on future renewal dates, unless your subscription is canceled before renewal.
All billing, payment processing, and subscription payment information are handled through Stripe. The Author Stage does not directly store full credit card numbers or complete payment card details.
You agree to keep your billing information accurate and up to date.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time.
If you cancel during the 7-day free trial period, you will not be charged.
If you cancel after your paid subscription has started, your subscription will be canceled, but your author page will continue to work until the original subscription expiration date. Cancellation does not result in a refund, credit, or partial reimbursement.
After the subscription period ends, your author page or related services may become inactive unless the subscription is renewed.
7. No Refund Policy
All payments made to The Author Stage are final and non-refundable.
We do not offer refunds for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Failure to cancel during the free trial period
- Accidental subscription renewals
- Partial use of the service
- Non-use of the service
- Cancellation after payment has been processed
- Dissatisfaction with the service
- Failure to update or manage your author page
- Change of mind
- Duplicate accounts or subscriptions
If you cancel a paid subscription, your author page will remain active until the end of the subscription term that has already been paid for. No refunds, prorated refunds, credits, or partial reimbursements will be issued.
8. User Content
You may upload, submit, create, edit, or provide content for your author page, including but not limited to:
- Author names
- Author bios
- Book titles
- Book descriptions
- Book covers
- Headshots and images
- Reviews and testimonials
- Website copy
- Links
- Contact information
- Social media links
- Other content you choose to display
You are solely responsible for the content you provide. By uploading or submitting content to The Author Stage, you represent and warrant that you own the content or have the necessary rights, licenses, permissions, and approvals to use and display it.
You retain ownership of the content you submit. However, by providing content to The Author Stage, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, store, reproduce, and use that content as necessary to provide and operate the service.
9. Prohibited Content and Use
You agree not to upload, submit, display, or use The Author Stage for any content or activity that:
- Is unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive
- Infringes on copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights of any person or entity
- Contains defamatory, abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory material
- Contains sexually explicit, obscene, or exploitative content
- Promotes illegal activity
- Contains viruses, malware, spam, or harmful code
- Attempts to interfere with the security or operation of The Author Stage
- Misrepresents your identity, book, authorship, credentials, or affiliation
- Violates any applicable law, regulation, or third-party agreement
We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, deactivate author pages, or terminate access to The Author Stage if we determine that a user has violated these Terms or used the service in a way that may harm The Author Stage, other users, or third parties.
10. Author Page Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep author pages and services available. However, we do not guarantee that The Author Stage will be available at all times, uninterrupted, error-free, or free from technical issues.
Service interruptions may occur due to maintenance, updates, technical problems, third-party service issues, hosting issues, security concerns, or circumstances beyond our control.
We are not responsible for any loss, damage, missed opportunity, or inconvenience caused by temporary service interruptions or technical issues.
11. Changes to the Service
We may update, modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of The Author Stage at any time. This may include changes to features, layouts, templates, account tools, author page functionality, pricing, or service availability.
We are not liable for changes, updates, modifications, suspensions, or discontinuation of any part of the service.
12. Contact Forms and Communications
Author pages may include contact forms or other submission tools. Information submitted through these forms may be stored, forwarded, or used to contact the author, respond to the visitor, or sign the person up within our system when applicable.
You agree that The Author Stage may send transactional emails related to your account, subscription, trial, forms, reminders, service updates, and other necessary communications.
We may also occasionally send marketing emails. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails, but transactional and service-related emails may still be sent when necessary.
13. Third-Party Services
The Author Stage uses third-party services to operate certain parts of the platform. These may include Stripe for payment processing and subscription billing, Google Analytics for website analytics, and Google Tag Manager for managing analytics and tracking tools.
Your use of The Author Stage may also be subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party providers.
We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, policies, performance, or availability of third-party services.
14. Privacy
Your use of The Author Stage is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and share information.
By using The Author Stage, you agree to our Privacy Policy.
15. Intellectual Property
The Author Stage website, platform, branding, design, templates, layouts, text, graphics, software, features, and other materials are owned by Snow Tree Media LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from The Author Stage or its materials without our written permission.
Your use of The Author Stage does not grant you ownership of our website, platform, software, branding, templates, or other intellectual property.
16. User Responsibility for Accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring that the information displayed on your author page is accurate, complete, lawful, and up to date.
The Author Stage is not responsible for errors, omissions, inaccuracies, outdated information, broken links, incorrect book details, incorrect pricing, incorrect contact information, or other issues resulting from user-provided content.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Author Stage is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We make no warranties or guarantees, express or implied, regarding the operation, performance, availability, accuracy, reliability, or results of the service.
We do not guarantee that using The Author Stage will result in book sales, leads, website traffic, reviews, publicity, search engine rankings, or any specific business or marketing outcome.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snow Tree Media LLC, The Author Stage, and their owners, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of The Author Stage.
This includes, but is not limited to, loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data, loss of goodwill, missed opportunities, service interruptions, or issues related to user content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to The Author Stage shall not exceed the amount you paid to The Author Stage during the twelve months preceding the claim.
19. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Snow Tree Media LLC, The Author Stage, and their owners, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from or related to:
- Your use of The Author Stage
- Your author page content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or regulation
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Any content, materials, or information you upload, submit, or provide
20. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend, deactivate, or terminate your account, author page, or access to The Author Stage at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, failed to pay required fees, misused the service, provided unlawful content, or engaged in conduct that may harm The Author Stage, other users, or third parties.
Termination does not entitle you to a refund.
21. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or The Author Stage shall be handled in the appropriate courts located in Oklahoma, unless otherwise required by law.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we may update the effective date at the top of this page.
Continued use of The Author Stage after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
