Shoes of Peace on the Desert Road
Sarah went about her daily life as a planner, living by deadlines and goals. She planned to take a break from her 13-year teaching career to transition to a stay-at-home mother of two girls. Cancer was not on the agenda. What happens when you don't plan for the unimaginable? The daily walk one takes through the worst storm of one's life brings the ultimate test of faith.
Knowing this was out of her hands, Sarah turned to God's love. Sarah always had a love for God, but she learned to fully surrender. It comes down to five things: God, faith, family, friends, and a positive attitude.

Excerpt from Shoes of Peace on the Desert Road
I wrote this out of love for my two little girls. There were time when I didn't think I would make it, but I kept going for n family. I felt compelled to share my story to help those who need hope and further the promise I made to God. I am a patient for life, but I will continue to live because of God's great mercy. I leaned on scripture, devotionals, and the power of music.I was told many times I looked good. I would tell them, "It's
not something you can see on the outside; it's internal." We can think of ourselves in our spiritual walk. We may seem fine, but on the inside, we are broken. The walk is not an easy one, but walking with God is far better than being without him. God is the reason I am here today.
Favorite Quote from Sarah Ivette Morales
You have never seen Jesus, and you don’t see him now. But still you love him and have faith in him, and no words can tell how glad and happy you are to be saved. This is why you have faith.

Reviews for Shoes of Peace on the Desert Road
This was written by someone I consider as a wonderful co-worker. She is a passionate teacher and strong woman and mother for sharing her memoirs with everyone. I shared it with other co-workers who needed an emotional story to give them strength to get thru each day. Beautiful Sarah, thank you for sharing your words with us.
I just finished Sarah Ivette Morales’s story and am bowled over by her demonstration of courage, strength, and faith to face a rare stage 4 cancer diagnosis at the age of thirty-eight. The story she tells in “Shoes of Peace on the Desert Road” reads like a diary in the form of a letter to her two sweet, precious young girls as she undergoes chemotherapy and surgery. While the author describes her darkest moments with heart-wrenching candor, she is never maudlin. She has a strong faith in the healing power of God and with the love and support of her family and friends she remarkably maintains a positive attitude through prayer and hope. I admire the author’s superhuman strength. I’m fully convinced that her unwavering faith is the reason for her miraculous cure. Thank you, Sarah Ivette Morales, for sharing your journey with us. May you continue to stay healthy and watch your darling girls grow up as strong as you have been and still are. You are a role model for all of us.
Wonderful book, especially for anyone dealing with cancer in their own family. Highly recommended.
